[thelist] Web Design Conference

For obvious reasons, I can't mention the name of the seminar I attended.
However, the same thing happened here....Only since I work for the Army,
your (US citizen) tax dollars paid for me to attend a full day session where
the most experienced presenter there knew nothing other than creating pages
in FrontPage...and didn't know THAT well. As David said, those of us with
any experience at all were basically forced, through boredom or compassion,
to bail out these people and help the other inmates...I mean attendees.

On the PLUS side, though, you do get to talk to other folks who are eager to
share what they've been up to. And there IS plenty of water available in
pitchers on every table. You just have to resist the temptation to drown
yourself in order to keep from screaming.

The lesson learned for me is that from now on I will check the credentials
of the presenters before attending any seminar.

...Of the seminars that I attended, I literally could have walked in cold
and taught all but one of them better than the
paid "professionals" that they had there...
