One good solution to this quandry is to target your links. If all of your
resource links are targeted to, say, 'resource' then all of the links will
open in that window, leaving the user with the original window and only one
new one no matter how many links are clicked. Another choice (one that I
love -- I've made Profusion my search engine of choice just because they
offer this) is to offer a link to 'open in new window'. So you'd have the
original link which would open in the current window, and then another link
that lets the user choose a new window. Yes, you can do this by right/option
clicking, but why force users to take an extra step? Anyway, just a couple
ideas if you're interested in keeping folks at your site and still offering
links ot outside resources.
