couple of suggestions:

1. try it on another system - might just be a problem with the one you're
on.  

2. try looking at it in DOS mode

3. try looking at it with a non-MS OS - Mac, Unix, etc.  anything but
Windows.  :)

4. get yourself some commericial software like Norton Utilities or Ontrack
EasyRecovery.

5. if none of the above work, try contacting a data recovery company, like
Ontrack or Symantec, to try and pull it off.  I don't know for certain if
any of them work with non-magnetic media, but I would like to think that
they could help.
