[thelist] IIS4.0 / MMC dies after power failure.

Hello

Has anyone had the experience of IIS4.0 and the MMC for it crashing, but
permanently, after a power failure? It happened once before, but I figured
it was just a fluke. Now, on a different machine, it's happened again. The
symptoms include:

- IIS just doesn't respond to page requests (web site not found)
- On other sites (on the same box) IIS won't connect to databases (even
though the ODBC connections are working)
- the Management Console freezes on the splash screen when you try to load
it.

Is the only way to get around this to reinstall IIS?
