See code below.  How can I make the "BACKGROUND" link use the usual "visited
links" colors (like the bottom "AAPC" link) rather than turning white and
disappearing?

Okay.  Here's a strange problem I can't figure out.  The "BACKGROUND" link
disappears (turns white on a white background) when it becomes a visited
link.  The other links behave normally, (turning the usual off-blue color
after having been the usual vivid blue link color).  I can't figure out
what's wrong.  

It's for an InTRAnet so I can't post the page, but here's the code, inserted
into comment tags so it doesn't screw with those who have HTML mail.
