Speaking as a designer/html-jockey, I read Chapter 1 of Wrox's Beginning 
Active Server Pages 2.0, and I used http://www.webopedia.com/ to look up 
explanations of terms such as 'client side', 'server side', 'client/server 
architecture', and 'two tier' etc.  That provided a good enough start and 
plenty of leads to further info.
