Howdy List,

Heres a solution (In theory) :)

Export from AutoCad as *.dxf

load into 3D Studio Max

use the Illustrate 5.0 plugin to export to Illustrator format with all
line attributes intact.

If all the applications behave as they claim to, it will work. I'm
sure it wouldnt be too hard to obtain a trial copy of the plugin for
evaluation purposes...

So there you are.
