That was fascinating stuff!

Data does tend to speak rather eloquently doesn't it?    ;-)

It's still an interesting design/client education issue .... "NO Sir, you
really DON'T want click-thru advertising on your shopping cart!" ....  but
certainly not as pervasive a problem as I was imagining!

Users complaining about your web-based reports taking too long to run?
Consider 'staging' the data: Schedule some nightly jobs to populate some new
tables containing totals and other consolidated information, run your
reports from those smaller tables.  Upside - faster response and happier
clients! (when things work right)  Downside - welcome to the world of job
stream schedule problems (Uh ... the 8am report has bad data in it because
the midnight file came in late from Malaysia ... so the 4am job didn't
finish on time which delayed space cleanup routines and then ....)
