Actually, there is:

Using <h#> headers to convey structural information is a core
element of disabled accessibility. How is a screenreader going
to understand that your <span class="h2"> is important?

Remember that some screenreaders work as plugins to browsers,
or to the OS. You will never know whether a given user has one
or not.
