Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

Norton Utilities doesn't normally do that to CPU usage
(SETI at Home does - it takes otherwise unused cycles),
although NAV might. I have NU running on my home laptop,
and if SETI isn't running, it typically runs at around 10% of
CPU capacity (PIII 600).

Don't know about RAM - I only have 64MB on that machine,
and do need more. It falls over a lot less since the most recent
CFStudio update.

McAfee is also a bit of a resources hog.

Cheers
Martin

Interestingly enough (and I don't know if this is final or not),
removing Norton Utilities has dropped my CPU usage from 98% to about
10%, when idle. System resources went from 93% usage, to 32%, and my
whole system shows 128 megs of RAM.
