The worst they can say is that it's expensive - plus it's
not clear if they're talking about StoryServer, or the newer
V5 platform.

"Good but expensive" applies to a whole range of top-end
solutions, like Broadvision, Ariba, i2, Siebel, SAP etc etc etc.

Remember - a CMS is a strategic tool. It will change how
you do business right the way through an enterprise, way
beyond the web front end. Think about the back-end functions
like R&D, supply management etc.
