[thelist] why does Netscape throw my table cell contents over to the right?

Also, looking at the layout, you could simplify it to this:

the top: make it one big image (shouldn't be bigger)
then one table with the navigation, left aligned, and then just text (no 
table). The text will flow around the table, and it will be completely 
liquid and seem to load even faster on very slow connections.
