would it be possible to write a script that could parse the information
from a username and password field and either save it to a file or email
it to myself?

basically the concept is:  could a submit button take you one place (say
after you typed in your username and password) but also in the same
motion while calling up the onSubmit javascript function, send the
information in the 2 fields to my email through formmail or something to
that effect?

would the password, which gets input on the screen as ********** be
parsed as well or would  it still be hidden?

preliminarily i think this may be the beginning of a huge security reach
on some websites.
