Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

Andrew

Sounds like you need a Content Management System...

There are a couple of articles on thesite already, but you
might be interested to know that evolt started off with an Access
solution (with CF rather than ASP, but ASP would have been
equally valid a choice) to run our home-grown CMS.

We moved to Oracle some time back because of scalability
issues with Access, rather than specific data-type length
issues.

Cheers
Martin

Subject: [thelist] access & oracle

Is there a way to insert text longer than 255 characters into an Access
database? If not, how about Oracle?

I need to set up a system for people who don't know HTML (or ASP) to not
screw up code that is already in place, while adding new magazine-style
articles to the website we're using.
