Isn't there a further way to "write" the IP address as a straight sequence
of numbers? If so, it'd be much easier to "hide" it in a query string as an
id-type value. I'm pretty sure I remember reading something about that. ie,
an IP could be represented as something like "238473763" (and it wasn't just
the IP with the periods removed ;p).
