[thelist] Table bordercolors

I'm building a site and I have some nav tables which when I first made the 
site had a nice blue border. The border show's up well in IE 5.x and shows 
up somewhat in NN4.0 but when I tried to validate the site it says "Error: 
there is no attribute "BORDERCOLOR" for this element (in this HTML version)"

I'm Trying to validate in 4.01 trans.
Is there a way to set the border color? I want the page to show the color in 
browsers at least back to 4.x.
