Have you tried: Postcast Server from:
http://www.gatecomm.com/

It's a FREE win32 based smtp server that runs on your machine and uses
your isp's DNS (or another you specify) to route mail.

Just tell outlook to the address of your new server (localhost port 25)
and away you go.

I've tried it with BT Internet - not sure if it will work with AOL but
can't see why not.
