My posts are getting held up for something weird in the header, so this may
be duplicated, sorry. 

My original problem is that I have a form where users upload a file to my
server, which is running ColdFusion. I also need to enter the filename only
into a DB. Anyone have ideas for parsing the filename out of the path in CF?

Why not strip it on the back end. What Server Side language are you using?
