I don't use AOL, but researched this for you...

"So, what do you do to fix this, if you are using AOL? It's very easy to fix actually. Just go to
the "Preferences" on your AOL tool bar. Then, select "WWW", and go to "Web Graphics". Uncheck the
box the says "Use compressed graphics". You may have to clear your cache or restart AOL for it to
take effect.
After you do this, images will look a lot clearer, and, you'll be able to save pictures you like
in their proper format. You'll wonder why you didn't do this before..."
