Hi Andreg,

Try www.openair.com. It allows you to keep track of what everyone is doing
and how long its taking. You can sort by employee, by project, etc.
It isn't exactly project management in that you can see percentages
of time spent on a particular project but it will give you totals. Its a
great tool also
for projects where you have outside people working on specific parts. You
can set up
accounts for them and track totals for them and for the project. They can
submit
invoices right through the app. Its also very useful for freelancers and
contract
workers. You can track each of your jobs easily and then send out an invoice
when you
are done.

In my experience, MS Project will do all you asked but its only worth using
if
the project is complex otherwise it sucks up more time than its worth.

They used to have a free option for small accounts not
sure if they charge now.

Subject: [thelist] Scheduling production people... HELP
Reply-To: thelist at lists.evolt.org

Hi everyone..

i have a bit of a problem and i hope you all can help. i am the production
manager for a web firm with a production team of approx 15 people (sometimes
more sometimes less). I need to find a piece of software, or web app that
will allow me to keep track of what my people are working on, their %
allocation time to a specific project, and the other usual stuff that comes
along with managing and scheduling people. Has anyone come across anything
that is useful for this type of thing?

any suggestions are greatly appreciated... please and thanks

andreg
