interesting analogy, matt, but, to be fair, electronic theft still leaves
you with the, um, original

it's like you had this beautiful silverware set, but after it has been
stolen, you still have it!!  even though the thief does too!!  in fact,
most of the time you don't even know that half way around the planet
there's a scrumptious dinner party going on using your silverware!!

please don't get me wrong, folks, i'm not trying to trivialize the issue of
copyright infringement (which is what electronic theft really boils down
to)

here's one site's approach to dealing with being ripped off -- "Rather than
persuing a time-and-resource consuming course of legal action against these
sites, we choose to let them continue to demonstrate their incompetence and
lack of ethics to the world" and then there's a list of links to various
sites with an explanation of what it was they ripped off
