Where can I find a tutorial, or preferably an action to make the "glow" between
those two plugs?

I'm sort of doing the same thing, only I need the plugs to go horizontally. It
didn't look right when I rotated it, so I just found other phone plugs in the
direction I needed, but I can't figure out how to do the "explosion" there ;)

Any help?
