RE: Player Penetration - here are logs from the past week for a site that detects player version:

233:  2.78%: May/ 7/01 16:46: /
215:  0.19%: May/ 7/01 16:46: /detect_3.swf
206:  0.11%: May/ 7/01 16:46: /detect_4.swf

206/233 = 88.5% percent of visitors definitely had Flash 4 or greater.
215/233 = 92% percent of visitors definitely had Flash 3 or greater.

Take into account that a some of the requests for / were from spiders which wouldn't request the SWFs and the MM info is right on.
