hey there,

IMHO, the best/easiest way is to let photoshop (5.5+, i think) do it for
you automatically.

Open Photoshop, Click: File > Automate > Web Photo Gallery

It will take a directory of .jpg's, (or any format, i think), and create
the thumbnails, create and optimize the large format images, create all
the html pages and the navigation. it's pretty good. plus, if you know
your way around html and global-search-and-replace, you can easily
customize the html it outputs...=20
