[thelist] Manual linefeed in form element?

I am trying to put together a form in ColdFusion that incorporates both
query data and text data. The form element will look like this:

<textarea cols="60" rows="10" name="message" id="message">
----------- Original Message --------------- 
#Message#
</textarea>

The problem is that when it is placed into the database, no linefeed is
recorded between Original Message and #Message# and I would like on
there. So my question is how do I manually place on there?
