Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

Hi Jay

As far as the spider knows, all they're getting is a static page,
particularly
if you're not flagging it as potentially dynamic (query strings et al) -
there's no difference from a normal browser except any browser-specific
content may or may not work depending on your ruleset.

My site is entirely built with XSSI and SEs handle it with no problem:
<http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:LbsjpdWQPGw:www.easyweb.co.uk/articles/cms.html>

My question to you is: Aren't Keywords page-specific?

Unless you did something like
<meta type="keyword" content="pagespecific keyword1, pagespecifickeyword2,
<!--#include virtual="/includes/generickeywords.inc" -->
where generickeywords.inc contains comma separated generic keywords
obviously.

Cheers
Martin

Subject: [thelist] SSI And Keyword Meta-Tags

Good day guru group!

I am looking for a way to more easily maintain keyword meta-tags for our
site and had this thought...why not keep the keyword meta-tag separate and
include it with SSI? (We use IIS as the server, do a lot of ASP.) Do bots,
spiders, crawlers, etc. 'see' the includes, allowing something like this to
be done?
