hehe - did they have an option for "dump all your data in a publically
accessible text file"? (which they did for at least a couple of weeks
lately)

Part of your job as a designer or developer is to go past
'what the client wants' to 'what the client needs' - sometimes
the client will either want something which attacks the surface
issues in his/her mind, rather than the root causes. And other
times, the client will be dazzled by "what's kewl" - hey they're
human like us. Mostly.
