[thelist] input within paragraphs

Hi,

I've been looking at this for hours....

Could anybody please enlighten me why the following construct
doesn't work in NN4/Mac? It seems that as soon as I use the
<INPUT> inside of a <P>, the style dissappears. Is there anything
illegal about this?

Example:.....................................................................

The style:

p, input {
   font : 12px verdana, sans-serif;
}

The markup:

 <form name="prefs">
 <p>
 <input type="checkbox" name="nevermore">
 Check here if you want to bypass this notice and go
 directly to our alternate site on future visits.</p>
 </form>
