Let me be the first to assure you that no one you were debating with 
would deliberatly send you a virus. I know this for a couple reasons. 
First being that I can personally vouch for the people you were debating 
with, secondly the fact that this virus is self replicating by nature, 
and spreads without user interaction. It also just hit critical mass 
yesterday and today which is why many of us are now getting it.

Frankly, it's possible that "Monkies May Fly Out of My Butt!"(To quote 
Wayne and Garth), but highly unlikely. I'd like to point out again that 
this virus is self replicating by nature and requires no input from a 
user, who even if they did want to send you something nasty should be 
brought up with their system administrator/abuse account/whatever, not 
back here on thelist.

Hopefully this matter is cleared up..

If you're having a problem getting the oracle 8i to run on a 2.4 series 
linux kernel, set the LD_KERNEL_ASSUME variable to 2.2.5.

It makes no sense, but it gets the installer working(more to come in a 
full artcile on getting oracle to run on linux on the evolt.org site)
