[thelist] ASP Help Please

Hi Robert,

Johnnie and Rory may not have run into it yet, but you're absolutely right -
there is a database package known as "progress":

http://www.progress.com/

(Actually, I haven't run into it yet either -- but I think my fiancee has
built some applications using Progress.)

Great! - you've already got the drivers and can get them in place!

My guess is that the syntax for the db connection itself should be pretty
standard - see or search google for any ASP tutorial and or SQL refresher
courses.

I think I'd recommend wandering around the corporate 'Progress' site - they
seem to have a number of references about using ASP with their product:
http://partners.progress.com/cgi-bin/sc2000eui.cgi/aspconnections.pASP-enabl
ed%20applications

You may also want to check out this article and the site referenced within
for news about POSSE - the Progress Open Source Software Exchange:

HTH and Good Luck!

RonL.

I am trying to connect to a Progress database. It uses Merant drivers for
ODBC connectivity.
