No supposedly about it; it will, or at least some HTML will.  This happens in the version of AOL I use at home (5, I think).  Many of theList digests will turn into GIANT HEADING TEXT or some other horror about 1/2 way through.  Or a huge link, often a mailto.

Their web client, ironically, avoids this problem, so I often use it instead.
