Even though I know they are pretty meaningless, i.e. one visitor can
increase it ten-fold bouncing around, etc., most of my small business
clients still want them so that THEY can see that there's some activity
going on.  They're too busy to read a Webalizer report, ya know.

But you do see them less and less.  I think among the many reasons are:
- they can be started at any number you want, and even increased manually if
you want, so what's it really supposed to prove?

- everyone in the industry knows they're not 100% accurate, so they don't
carry the weight they used to in attracting paying advertisers.

- let's face it - they're ugly!
