that would be, by far the *least* compatible solution.  one way of capturing
key events in each of ie, nn4, and nn6 -- not to mention there are probably
inconsistencies across platforms.  on top of that, scripting doesn't account
for you non-js users.  rather than trying to change the way the browser
works, work with it in the way it was designed.  your users will appreciate
you for it.
