The height attribute isn't even mentioned on this page. Does that mean that
it was never a valid tag?

OK so I can't use the height attribute as it is not supported. So there is
no valid way of aligning my
table row with the bottom of the page unless I want to convert over to
frames?

It seems that someone should have come up with an alternative for this.
