[thelist] Another Spam Question (re IE)

Hey all --

Thanks very much for the helpful responses to my earlier SPAM question.
Here is another question for y'all:

MSN (the evil empire) is my service provider and I generally use IE as my
browser.   Suddenly I am getting these forced pop-up windows (even before I
open up my browser) with advertisements.  If I leave my computer for an
hour, I return to find 7-8 windows with various advertisements.

Has anyone else heard of this?  Is it an MSN problem?  Could someone (the
same person who spammed me) hacked into my machine and fed it a program to
do this?  Is IE the culprit?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated if y'all have ever heard of this
happening before.
