I am not a MN LLC, nor a legal expert, but I am a MN Corp.
When weighing the options, I did learn that LLC status is governed by the
state and can be quite different in each.

If MN is not friendly to foreign ownership, you might try to find a state
that is friendly  then file foreign corporation status (outside of the home
state) with the state you want to do business in.
