I ran a quick test on a pretty typical presentation:
20 slides
Background image
Transitions from slide to slide
Animation on most slides
Layered text on all slides
2 slides with 15+ web quality logos
Occasional graphic on slides
2 charts, 1 table

File about doubled from 500k to 1MB with
Presentation @ 640x480

When I dropped the presentation size to 320x240,
Movie file size was 344k.

In both cases I set quality at standard screen quality and elected not to
include the native .ppt data with the QT movie.
