Well, I lied about not contributing anymore to this thread.

Well, not from personal recollection anyways...but, say somebody invents 
Magic HTML (or MHTML for short).  Except, it will only be supported in MSIE 
8.0, Netscape 8.0, Mozilla 0.99999992 and Opera 12.  Well, we will be back 
to the exact same situation that is presented to us today.  We can use the 
new technology, but not everyone will be able to view it (without 
upgrading, that is)  And it will happen, it always does (well, not this 
exact example, but you get what I mean...).

And we won't see it coming, either.
