[thelist] IE6 causing ... text centering??

Scott,

Microsoft, in all their infinite wisdom (and presumed rightness) corrected a
wrong by creating this "break" The HTML standard can be read at the
following:

http://www.w3.org/TR/PR-html40-971107/struct/tables.html#h-11.3.2

It is somewhat confusing, but it does give an indication that the cell
alignment should be inherited from enclosing elements, such as other table
cells. It does not give scope to the inheritance, such as , "Inherit the
properties from parents up to the alignment attributes on the current table,
then stop"

So, it seems, therefore, that Microsoft just assumed the inheritance never
stops. :)

It's a big change from previous versions--I completely agree. Microsoft is
going to get away with it. Anybody else tried this and there would be a lot
more complaining going on, or people simply wouldn't use the browser.
