Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

-------------------- Start of message text --------------------

Hi Seb

A couple of things:
*) Sure, the tools available are now making it much easier for
individuals to self-publish on all kinds of sites, but I think much of
the resulting traffic comes from friends and families.

*) How does your thinking tie up with the research showing that usage
is being concentrated in fewer sites, not diversifying to lots of small
    independent content sites?

Cheers
Martin
(PS sorry to both Cleo and Dan for my earlier reply which assumed that
Dan had written the original post)

this huge number of people are looking for
more engaging content to consume in their time online, and they find it not
in the bland, broadcast-centric messages of large corporations and dotcoms,
but in the personal, emotive writings that you get from weblogs and
personal sites.
