[thelist] php my admin

I was thinking it was the host, but now I'm not sure...

I have a MySQL db running on a server. When I log in with SSH and issue
queries to teh db, response times are plenty fast. When I use my php query
test page to query the db and write results in HTML, response time is OK
fast. When I upload PHPMyAdmin and try to use it to admin my db, response
times are impossibly slow.

Any ideas what might be going on?
