Memo from Martin P Burns of PricewaterhouseCoopers

Ritwik

As long as the intranet server has some kind of server-side
processing (Perl, PHP, ASP, CF, JSP etc etc etc) you'll be able
to pick random quotes from some kind of data store, even if
it's a flat text file.

Most SS language tutorials have some kind of fortune cookie
script as it's a neat way of demonstrating retrieving and displaying
data.

Cheers
Martin

Subject: [thelist] Fortune in Linux

Dear All,

I would like to do two things:

i) Getting a quote from "fortune-mod" everytime I log into
my Linux r
Box and

ii) Getting a quote from fortune again in the home page of
my INTRANET
server.

I know I can do that first one, though do not know how to
do. I am not
sure whether the second one is possible.
