I looked at your site http://www.io.com/persist1/.  Do you do that with
hiding layers?  I use that method for this site http://edcintl.cr.usgs.gov.
I have the different globes hidden in layers and then use javascript to
call them up.  It looks like the globe turns to highlight different
countries, but of course it's just a new image appearing.
