firstly it sounds like you have a really rounded and thorough approach to
procurement.

not wanting to start the old coder/designer thing again, but it may
highlight the approach that educational establishments are taking when
teaching students, with very little crossover between the two disciplines.
perhaps it's that the colleges etc don't see the need to hone student's
coding skills if familiarity/experience of/with software packages is seen as
the current trend for vacancies. think this may be less the case with
students coming from specific "new media" courses at whatever level rather
than graphic design courses that have an option in web design.
