[thelist] CSS vs tables

  I have read and understand all the arguments in favour of style sheets
over tables for layout. I've been trying to string together a style sheet
that will provide a "typical" tabled layout, with a title/navigation bar
across the top, a side menu on the left, and a main area where text goes.
Possibly a box of some kind to the right and a footer.

I'm getting nowhere. Can someone show me an example of something like this?
