i've used FSO to create files well over 800k... mostly because it
was my personal site and i'm lazy...  i even used FSO as the basis
for a pseudo-CMS for my brother a couple years ago...

however, i only wrote to the file between a few bytes and maybe
10k at a time, never as a single 100k chunk of text...  never even
tested it...

this was also in a shared hosting environment...
