[thelist] css floats and margins

can anyone confirm if IE6 has 'problems' when applying margins to floated
element.

test page:

this shows two divs, floated left with fixed widths and a left and right
margin of 50px.

when viewed in IE6, the left margin on the leftmost div appears to be twice
the size it should be, whereas both opera 6 and mozilla 0.9.9 obey what I
think it should be doing.
