Does your new server Unix based? Have a Perl Interpreter in it? Configured
in IIS (if windows) to handle .cgi/.pl scripts?

Subject: [thelist] perl scripts causing server error

As a PHP junkie, I have never delved into Perl, but I have just transfered a
site from one server to another, and I am having problems getting the
scripts to run. To eliminate the obvious, I selected a script server that
already had functiong .cgi/.pl scripts on it (ie perl works, and the scripts
work) and put the following script into the same directory. I CHMOD'd it
577, as per the functioning scripts, and checked the first line correctly
points to Perl.

#!/usr/bin/perl
print "Hi there!";

I get "Internal Server Error". I can't figure out what is going wrong. Any
suggestions ?

TIA
Phil Parker
