[thelist] Website Loading Screen

why would anyone want a screen that says loading or have I missed the point, is
there some magical thing it does?  I thought no loading was the aim!

Hi all,

My boss saw me looking at http://www.computerarts.co.uk/ and wants a similar
loading screen for one of our websites. Does anybody have an idea how such a
feature could be created?

I had a look through computerarts source code and couldnt really figure it
out.

Ideally it would appear, and hide everything (bar the header) of the site,
until it had all loaded, at which point it would disappear. Any ideas?
