This was said before, and it worked for me in the past...

Run a search for 'iisreset.exe' and run it.  It may take a few minutes, but it does the trick.

About 3 minutes...no luck, but it immediately responds with an error dialog:

"Windows  could not stop the service.  An error was not reported.  This could be
an internal service error or a Windows error.  Contact your system administrator
if the problem persists."

Anyone  know  if IIS can be uninstalled and then reinstalled on a *Win2K Server*
system?  I  know  you  can  remove or add Windows components from the Add/Remove
applet,   and  IIS is inlcuded in that list. Or what about running Apache on the
same system as IIS?

I suppose one other solution is to just reinstall the whole fugly mess and start
over :(
